    Need a Pages (eg FB Pages) Plugin in SEC
    1. A feature for users to own with their own names.
    2. a feature for site admin to create original content so that the site become stronger SEO wise.

    These functions will widen the scope of SEC for site owners.

      s.ziyad 5 Likes / pls do comment as well. i my case what i would like to be able to do is.

      1. to write a weekly briefing of shared stories of the week.
      2. if the topics post can be made to work like a blog/ with possibility to add images to posts it should be enough.
      3. there are many sharing sites where users can share to million people audiences/ if the uses can have something like their own 'Pages'/ there can be reason for them to think this is niche enough for them to join.

    Creating another drop down
    Hi Everyone

    Is it possible or any one got idea how to create an another drop down like "Everything" with different set of categories.

    Our cloud community is really in need of classified section.

    Development.
    I am developing a lot for this platform, and I am going to continue doing so.
    My latest addition is a webapp that I started on. This app is not supposed to be a user managed webbapp, it is going to be a read,share and commenting system. No posting..

    It is in very early stages, but it is working. However, it is a long way to go. This webbapp will be easy to implement into any theme.

    The other thing that strike me, is that this platform does not need to be a social network, it can be built into any sort of website, so the next thing I am going to create in the theme front, is a blog theme.

    This should be really easy to do, but I need to figure out some stuff. So I am in the sketching process of that now :D

    Social Engine Down Today
    Hi There,
    We love the SE cloud but we do have some problems so far as we developing the community. Today our site including SE sites are down for 10 hours. We did not get any email notification warning site owners. When the sites are down I couldn't be able to contact anyone to ask the status. I have tried to come here and post but even this community is down. Is there any alternative for this? can we host our cloud site on some other servers to avoid this kind of problems once we grow? or SE is taking any precautions to rectify this problem?

    It seems that the bugs are not fixed yet. I thought this update fixes the bugs (for voting feature etc). Still the voting feature doesn't work if you scroll down to second page and vote on any posts. Could you please give some update here. Look forward to see more social/interaction features for board theme. Thanks for reading.

      monti 10 hours!? thats a deal breaker for me whether they gave me a notification or not...
      • 1
      JAG We are already running our cloud website for more than 2 weeks and loving it. Heaps of posts and new members are joining everyday. No doubt this is one of the best solution from Social Engine. But like everyone else mentioned 10 hours of no communication is not good at all. We got few messages on Facebook from members and they were not happy about not notifying them before the maintenance.
      So please its best if we can be notified before any maintenance is scheduled.

      Thanks
      • 1
      Kimmie We should have definitely been notified that our sites were going down. Glad my site is not launched as of yet, because this would have been embarrassing. SE, you should have notified us in a timely fashion so that site owners can inform their members and look professional as a new site. Instead, everyone was made to look untrustworthy to their members. (At least in my humble opinion). I don't know about other site owners but I would want to notify members about upcoming "Maintenance" at least two days in advance.
      Not cool! :-(

      (Wow, first time upset with SE and also waiting for an explanation).

    3rd Party Themes
    Hey guys! I was wondering how theme development has been going. Is there any annoying work around you guys had to deal with?

    If you made some cool customizations with the theme please show off your site in the comments! I would love to see what you guys have been doing with customization.

      Eugene We have ported one of our themes to SE Cloud. But it is almost impossible for non-tech clients to install themes. They need to upload all images separately via Media Manager, get urls then edit css and upload it.
      That's an overkill for most of people.
      One more thing is that there are still no dev. accounts. We will need at least one account per theme for demos and one account for ongoing development.
      Currently we don't plan any development for SE Cloud yet. It seems most of clients' interest shifted back to SE 4 as well.

      Jeff I customized mine, got it looking sweet on desktop and mobile, prepaid my $500 for a one year account, then the big mobile change you made over a month a go broke it. I was told customizations would be supported on mobile, but my site is now worthless. On October 25th (Ticket #48599), I requested either a fix, account credit, or a refund and I have heard NOTHING back. Between that and no updates on import scripts or an API, I get the feeling you are not very serious about this product.

      seTweaks [52,Jung Kim] an "Edit File" option in Media Manager for CSS files is useful.

      Just to edit a style in the uploaded CSS file I had to edit the local file, upload it again and change the reference in the header.

    The only thing that holds me from buying a second licence of SE Cloud - editing ...
    There is a lot of users from this community that requests having a feauture of editing comments for their users and admins. When does Social Engine plan to implement this? Could you give us a time frame?
      • 1
      beanorama Ugh - I didn't see you folks are talking about SE Cloud. Might as well be talking iOS to a PC guy for the way Webligo manages the two products separately (yet blends the two communities here on this forum). So, for what it's worth, here's one small voice crying in the wilderness for the ability to edit comments on SE PHP.
      • 1
      beanorama Didn't realize I couldn't! Missed that. Yes, this is important. *Bump* / +1

      Rick Von Ruden I agree this is critical to implement very soon.

    List of Much Needed Tweaks for SE Cloud...
    First off i'd like to say that i love the direction of SE Cloud! With that said here's a short list of things that would make for a better experience and i don't think it'll require much programming but i could be wrong. Let me know your thoughts, i'm sure some of these others might have posted.

    1. Vote up & down should be on main page. Quick access without clicking link and should cause for more interaction through voting.

    2. As author of your own post you should be able to edit it instead of having to delete and repost.

    3. A repost button would be a nice addition on all post, again will encourage interaction. Would be a good way of getting more points when your post gets reposted/shared by other users.

    4. We need control of the point system to set accordingly to our specific site.

    5. On the main page it should be noticable with a glance which posts are videos. Example show the play arrow on main page post, currently that play arrow is only seen when you click the link to open light box. More video play will occur if play arrow is visable from main page.

    6. Category view from main page needs to be split for multiple view of categories for those sites with more than 20 categories.

    7. Members page displays pics in rectangular form which cuts off most users pics because the profile pic is in a square format. Easy fix make members area the same pic size as profile area.

    8. Members area shows all members but you should also be able to search members by which ones you're following for quick access to a particular user you're looking for.

    9. On main page besides just the post title what do you all feel about the description also displaying on the main page but only a short amount of characters then you'll have to click the link to read the rest in light box.

    10. In the invite friends section besides FB and Twitter users should be able to invite via email.

    In closing these are just potential tweaks to what's already there on the site. I have a list of added features i'd like to see in the future but these 10 things would make a better overall experience for the user.

      Dawid Pacha I like this ideas:

      2. As author of your own post you should be able to edit it instead of having to delete and repost.

      3. A repost button would be a nice addition on all post, again will encourage interaction.

      One comment to point 3: how to solve duplicate content on Home Page?
      • 1
      don johnson A way to generate a site map and submitt it to Google, Yahoo and Bing would be nice. That seems pretty basic what its not there now??
      • 1
      s.ziyad To this list pls add the following as well;
      1. An integrated social blog - eg tumblr
      2. Google Maps integration
      3. Adsense and Amazon Associate monetizing
      4. Google + integration
      5. Categories; on top mnultiple category system, with ability to add to main menu; i cannot find a way to rename it to Categoeis from 'everything'.

    New MIX Theme
    Both theme Stream & Board are amazing... but I prefered to maintain both features in one. With a little of work I've created a MIX theme.
    What do you think?
      • 2
      Robin Dear followers read these instructions to do the same in your site. Like and enjoy your week end ;)

      Step 1 - Select the Board theme
      Step 2 - Copy this code missing in your Custom CSS

      <!-- New from Stream CSS-->
      #page_index,#page_new,#page_hot,#page_list,#page_subscriptions,#page_top_rated,#page_members,#page_categories,#page_tags,#page_search{overflow:hidden;}
      #page_index .gutter,#page_new .gutter,#page_hot .gutter,#page_list .gutter,#page_subscriptions .gutter,#page_top_rated .gutter,#page_members .gutter,#page_categories .gutter,#page_tags .gutter,#page_search .gutter{float:right;width:290px;margin-left:20px;}
      #page_index .main,#page_new .main,#page_hot .main,#page_list .main,#page_subscriptions .main,#page_top_rated .main,#page_members .main,#page_categories .main,#page_tags .main,#page_search .main{overflow:hidden;border-radius:5px;}
      #page_index .widget,#page_new .widget,#page_hot .widget,#page_list .widget,#page_subscriptions .widget,#page_top_rated .widget,#page_members .widget,#page_categories .widget,#page_tags .widget,#page_search .widget{margin-bottom:20px;}
      .fg{padding:1.5em;background-color:#fff;border-radius:5px;}
      .widget{overflow:hidden;}
      .widget+.widget{margin-top:20px;}
      .widget h2{font-size:1.3em;line-height:1.3em;margin:0px 0px 15px 0px;}
      .widget p{line-height:150%;color:#777;}
      .widget .activity .preview,.activity .comments_wrapper{display:none;}
      .activity>li{font-size:1em;padding-left:30px;line-height:1.2em;}
      .activity>li+li{margin-top:1.3em;}
      .activity .member_photo{display:inline-block;width:24px;height:24px;background-repeat:no-repeat;background-size:contain;margin-right:2px;vertical-align:middle;border-radius:3px;display:none;}
      .activity .member_photo{margin-left:4px;}
      .activity .member_photo:first-child{display:block;float:left;margin-left:-30px;}
      .activity .date{display:block;color:#aaa;font-size:.9em;margin-top:.2em;}
      .activity .preview{margin-top:.3em;}
      .activity .preview{overflow:hidden;clear:both;}
      .activity .preview.link>.wrapper{width:100%;}
      .activity .preview>.wrapper{float:left;padding:.5em;line-height:1.3em;background-color:#E8F6FF;}
      .activity .preview .preview_photo{float:left;overflow:hidden;display:block;}
      .activity .preview .preview_photo img{max-width:60px;max-height:60px;}
      .activity .preview .preview_inner{overflow:hidden;padding-left:.5em;}
      .activity .preview .preview_title{font-weight:bold;}
      .activity .preview .preview_body{margin-top:.5em;}
      .site_info p{padding-right:5px;}
      .site_info_wrapper .btn{display:block;margin-top:20px;}
      .sitestats li+li{margin-top:.4em;}
      .sitestats li span{text-transform:lowercase;vertical-align:text-top;opacity:.7;}
      .sitestats li .num{font-size:1.3em;opacity:1;}
      .members ul{overflow:hidden;}
      .members li{float:left;margin:0px 2px 2px 0px;}
      .members li a{display:block;width:48px;height:48px;background-size:contain;border-radius:4px;background-repeat:no-repeat;position:relative;}
      .members li.online a:after{content:' ';display:block;width:7px;height:7px;margin:2px;border-radius:3px;background-color:#74E036;box-shadow:inset 0px 0px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3);position:absolute;right:0;bottom:0;}
      .members-online{margin-bottom:15px;overflow:hidden;}
      .members-online+.stats{display:block;clear:both;color:#999;}
      <!-- End from Stream CSS -->

      Step 3 - Create a new template with this code

      <script type="x-engine/func" data-func="template" data-name="header"></script>
      <div id="page_hot">
      <div class="gutter">
      <div class="widget fg site_info_wrapper">
      <script type="x-engine/func" data-func="site-info"></script>
      <a class="btn btn-large composer-link" href="javascript:void(0);">
      <script type="x-engine/func" data-func="lang" data-key="Post Something!"></script>
      </a>
      </div>
      </div>
      <!--new-->
      <div class="main fg">
      <script type="x-engine/func" data-func="feed" data-type="hot" data-gallery-mode="true"></script>
      </div>
      </div>
      <script type="x-engine/func" data-func="template" data-name="footer"></script>

      Extra 4 - End if you want the Stream Menu you can also copy this code missing in your Custom CSS

      <!-- New Menu from Stream CSS -->
      #header .right{float:right;padding-top:3px;}
      #header #logo{font-family:'Droid Sans',sans-serif;letter-spacing:-1px;overflow:hidden;margin:auto 0px;margin-right:30px;margin-bottom:5px;padding:5px 0px;min-height:43px;}
      #header #logo img{display:block;max-width:300px;max-height:40px;}
      #header #logo a{display:inline-block;color:#555;font-size:24pt;line-height:1.3em;font-weight:bold;}
      #header #menu>ul{margin:0px;background-color:#444;border-radius:5px;}
      #header #menu>ul.nav>li{display:inline-block;vertical-align:middle;line-height:25px;border-right:1px solid rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.1);}
      #header #menu>ul.nav>li.active{border-right:1px solid transparent;}
      #header #menu>ul.nav>li>a{padding:.5em 1em;font-size:1.2em;color:#aaa;text-shadow:1px 1px 1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);}

    Feature Request: Editable media in posts
    Admins should be able to edit not only post title, link, category or body. What about image that is included in LINK or IMAGE post type? I think it's very reasonable to have it editable in admin panel.

    Hide HTML from users not logged in
    It would be nice to have a way to wrap HTML in a way that will hide it from those not logged in and vice versa

    REQUEST-FEATURE-“STATUS UPDATE”, “EVENT” and “DOCUMENT”
    Building on Marc’s suggestions; we love the idea of adding “Status update” into the “post something!“ section and I would limit characters to ≈200 (to avoid paragraphs). The value is that members will be active in our network even though they do not have content to share. Now, what about if we also add a simplified version of sharing “Events” and “Documents” as content. Events and documents are also imperative to share for most of our networks. Please refer to the picture to review my initial thoughts on "Events". [250,Drew Frey]
      • 1
      s.ziyad different claud sites will be for different needs. a long list of plugins will have to come as SEC grows. my idea is to keep on building a list of optional plugins made Active-Deactivate possible from admin.
      • 1
      marc Sounds perfect to me. [250,Drew Frey] would members be able to 'follow' an event as an indication that they will be attending?
      • 0
      Kimmie Cool Idea. I like.

    Let users post photo's in a reply
    let users post photo's in a reply. the thumbnail could be small like the users profile pic. and it can light box when clicked.
      • 1
      Drew Frey Cool idea here but if the photo is too small, would it even be worth it? What if you were able to upload only square photos (yes, a la Instagram.)
      • 0
      Robin Yes it will be a good enhancement !
      • 0
      Soundman i dont think they should be too big because it will take over the thread. maybe it can be a little attachment icon, that light boxes to the image. that way it could be a video too!! and it would take over the conversation. 8-0
